Kevin “Blue” Woods is originally from the West Coast and currently lives in NYC. He received his Jazz performance education at the University of North Texas. He specializes in genres from Jazz, Pop, R&B, Rock, and Blues. 

 This versatile performer worked with numerous bands in Dallas (The Tourists and The Tribe) and in New York (The Fugitives of Funk, the reggae funk band Stylie, and the jazz hip hop band, New Hype Jazz) as either sideman or leader in the areas of Saxophonist and Spoken Word. Blue has also performed professionally for Disney World, on Cruise Ships, and toured nationally with the Atlantic Records group, “White Trash”. 

Woods is also a talented composer and lyricist. In 1995, he established his own band, BlueWoods, that performed in both straight ahead Jazz as well as Jazz/Funk/R&B genres throughout NYC. Previous BlueWoods releases include the albums Over and Over and Words, which were produced and recorded with renowned producer, Mark Christensen, founder and CEO of Engine Room Audio.  

Woods’ upcoming release, CityLife, showcases his composition and performing style: sexy, cool and contemporary. The new album also features female vocalist, Twanée, who has opened for or worked with Alicia Keys, Keyshia Cole, Jennifer Hudson, Mya, Snoop Dogg, Fantasia Barrino, Faith Evans, and many others.
